A young man. Very bright. Homeschooled, much of it outdoors. Tennessee, then Pennsylvania. He was going to Liberty. He chose to build.

1. 01 · Birth

   The record starts at home.

   Jake Schroeder was born into a house that kept the years. Anita and Bill wrote them down the ordinary way — photographs, Facebook albums, life as it happened. The book is not a brand story. It is a family that paid attention.

2. 02 · Classroom

   Homeschool. A lot of it outside.

   He was homeschooled. The work was not a desk in a row. Much of the classroom was outdoors — weather, tools, a day that had to be finished. He is bright. That was never the question.

3. 03 · Tennessee · Pennsylvania

   Two places. One habit.

   The family lived in Tennessee, then in Pennsylvania. The rooms changed. The making did not. Growing up is on Anita’s page and Bill’s page — not as a highlight reel. As the years.

4. 04 · Liberty

   He was going. He chose the work.

   He was going to Liberty. He chose a different path: a life of building and making. Not a protest. A vocation. The hands already knew the job.

5. 05 · Tape

   A lifetime of building.

   He has been crafting things with tape since he could hold it. Not cute. Not a phase. Tape, scraps, whatever was in reach — a person formed by making things that have to stand. Followers build.

6. 06 · Now

   The room that’s already there.

   That is the work in the Twin Cities. Remodels, updates, light work, drywall repair. We do not build new houses. We finish what is in front of us — plumb, square, and finished.
